I work at a modern, open plan, busy orthodontic practice in Swansea, we see NHS and private patients, of all ages.
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals predominantly with straightening people’s teeth with fixed braces. As an orthodontic therapist, I treat mainly under 18 NHS cases, under the prescription of a specialist orthodontist.
This job is very rewarding, you have a sense of accomplishment and pride in seeing our young patients thrilled with their new smiles. I feel we can really make a difference to a person’s confidence and you feel as if you are making a positive difference in their lives.
I worked as an orthodontic nurse for many years before the course was available.
A caring, compassionate, friendly person with good manual dexterity, excellent communication skills, and can work well as part of a team. Able to follow instructions and take pride in their work, attention to detail is very important.
