My name is Hannah Pearson and I joined Llys Elian care home as an activities coordinator because it was a new challenge that utilised my art degree.
Older individuals living with dementia.
Planning and preparing activities and carrying out/supervising those activities.
The care home is very well run and a good environment to be in as well as making a difference in individuals lives. I chose this role because I wanted to work in the sector and utilise and grow my skills. The thing I like best about my job is spending time with different people.
I use my art skills every day to enrich the lives of others. The best part of my job is making a difference in people lives and bringing them joy.
To be a good activities coordinator you need these skills; resourcefulness, creativity, people skills, fun loving, and organised.
It is very rewarding and you have lots of fun every day.
