Introduction To Imaging Sciences (Radiography)

Articles

Have you ever had an x-ray or know someone who has had Radiotherapy? If so, then you may have heard of the role of a Radiographer.

Sitting under the Imaging Science field there are two areas: to Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiography.

Diagnostic Radiographers focus on the generation, collection and analysis of images. They will generally use x-rays, MRI and CT scans to see inside a patient's body to diagnose what is wrong with them.

Whereas Therapeutic Radiographers use a range of technical equipment to deliver Radiotherapy. The Radiographer uses specific amounts of radiation to target diseased tumours.
