Introduction To Neonatal

Articles

The neonatal period commences when a baby is born and ends at 28 days after birth when babies are commonly referred to as infants not neonates. During this period care is often received in the community by the midwife, GP, or health visitor.

However, for some babies who are born prematurely (before 37 weeks) or are born with health problems they may be cared for on a neonatal unit.
